Hydro One – Remote Employee Housing Office Containers
Description:
TargetBox finished a completely custom series of 20-foot office containers for a client requiring durable, portable, and climate-controlled workspaces.
Each unit for Hydro One was built from a standard steel shipping container and outfitted with 2×4 framing, 2” spray foam insulation, and smart panel wall finishes that provide a warm, professional appearance. The interiors feature vinyl plank flooring, white ceilings with trim, and double-pane windows to allow natural light while maintaining energy efficiency.
A through-wall air conditioning unit and in-wall heaters ensure comfort year-round, making these units ideal for on-site offices, project management hubs or temporary meeting spaces for Hydro One’s teams.
Externally, the containers are factory-painted in a light beige finish for a clean, consistent look and are stackable for efficient storage and transport, as shown in their deployment setup. Each unit includes a steel man door with a deadbolt for secure access and an electrical package with outlets and lighting for full functionality on the jobsite.
Combining strength, mobility, and modern design, these modified containers were shipped to Thunder Bay for Hydro One and do a great job of reflecting TargetBox’s commitment to delivering practical and professional workspace solutions that meet the evolving needs of today’s industries.
